Below are resources to assist in your children's social emotional development. I created these resources with the intention of teaching the following:

Identifying Emotions- Children need to be able to identify and express their emotions. That helps them relate better to others.
Positive Character Traits- Positive character traits help our children respond and act in appropriate ways.
Self Worth- I believe that we, as parents and primary caregivers, must teach our children their self-worth. If we don't, then someone or something else will. Our children need to know that we love them unconditionally. I believe they need to know that God made them with a plan and a purpose. (Ephesians 2:10)

Social Emotional Learning with the Bible

Social emotional learning is the foundation for building character. You are a doing an awesome job growing all aspects of your child!

Teaching Tip: Be intentional about teaching social emotional learning. Validate your child's emotions while exemplifying and explaining how to deal with tough emotions. Read books about emotions. Our local library has plenty of board books in the toddler/preschool section about emotions. We enjoy the Elizabeth Verdick books! Also, ask children how a character in a story or movie might be feeling, and why?
